Restaurant Training Ministry
In 2016 God gave Michael, a professional Chef, a dream to open a restaurant in Cambodia. So Michael moved to Cambodia. Michael initially volunteered with a discipleship program working with young men coming out of Phnom Penh brothels. Then he and some of the young men launched the 1st restaurant venture, Century 9 Inspired Eatery, in April 2018.

Century 9
The program has evolved to now employ 16 young Cambodian men who have gone through trauma, abuse, trafficking,
or any other painful experiences find healing and wholeness. We offer a way out of darkness. We have a restaurant and catering operation that serves over 250 meals a day in a kingdom centred workplace that offers lots of grace and staff care.
On the job training provides our guys with practical kitchen and customer service skills as-well as English classes and other life skills training.
SMOKE
One of the young men working with Michael at Century 9 wanted to go to school to be a professional chef so we were able to help him follow his dream of culinary school. Michael started SMOKE American BBQ to help offer him more skills. Seeing an opportunity for American BBQ here we launched SMOKE food truck in 2024: bringing delicious slow smoked meats to Phnom Penh. Our truck quickly gained a large following. We are now also starting up a SMOKE restaurant with a ministry space and garden that will bless the wholemcommunity. This new "Business as Mission" will be another amazing opportunity to employ more young men from difficult backgrounds, offer on the job training, share Jesus with them and see lives transformed.
DISCIPLESHIP
At the heart of all we do is discipleship. We are not just a workplace, we are on a mission to share Jesus and make disciples. As part of the working week we hold bible studies, devotions, offer courses such as The Alpha Course and inner healing art to share Jesus with our staff. We regularly take retreats with the whole team and with the leaders so we can grow and develop in our walks with God and make space for Him to show each person their true identity as loved sons of God. We have the whole team over for dinner regularly and invite them as family into our home. We love nothing more than when we get to see someone give their life to Jesus and the power of The Holy Spirit at work in their lives.
